Trade-in-car

The Daimler Sovereign, which can only be distinguished from its Jaguar counterpart by the traditional radiator grille and different emblems, appeared a year after the launch of the XJ6. In fact, it was an absolute top model, with most extras included as standard. Launched with much acclaim in 1968, the XJ6 refined the concepts that previous Jaguar sedans already had, resulting in a car that could compete with the very best Mercedes-Benz had to offer at the time.

The Daimler Sovereign Coupe is the shorter wheelbase, two-door version of the full-fledged Sovereign sedan. What was the car intended for? It is an automobile designed for the discerning motorist who wanted something that looked as good as it drove. This resulted in a very stylish car with a fantastic package of luxury, performance, and form. The performance of the 4.2-liter inline-six engine is also generous, with a top speed of over 190 kilometers per hour. With a refined, fully independent suspension, this Daimler has excellent road handling and is surprisingly agile for such a large and luxurious car. It is also just as comfortable as the sedan on which it is based, and drives even better than the sportier E-Type that preceded it. We can guarantee this because we have both models in our collection!

In short, the Daimler Sovereign Coupe is truly a car for all seasons, capable of easily fulfilling various roles, from weekend racer to limousine and weekly grocery getter. The high cost of making the two-door body compliant with American safety regulations meant that the Coupe version was never sold in the US. As a result, the model is one of the rarest in the XJ family, produced between 1975 and 1977. Of the only 1,698 Daimler Sovereign 4.2-liter Coupes built, only 112 left the factory with left-hand drive and a 4.2-liter engine. An absolute rarity!

This original left-hand drive model is 1 of only 112 made and drives well and has a beautiful color scheme in black with a biscuit leather interior. This configuration is very rare and sought after. Over the years, the car has developed a fair amount of patina. The interior is truly beautiful and very attractive due to the patina, the carpets are still very neat, the dashboard is reasonably nice, and the headliner is in used condition.

The exterior has some spots on the paint and therefore needs attention for those who want to have a Daimler in top condition. With a very good base, this is a Daimler with excellent potential for a Sovereign Coupe in concourse condition. With only 112 examples, this car is incredibly rare and an ultimate collector's item.

The documentation includes various invoices for recent maintenance on this Daimler, as well as some beautiful visual material. This is truly a unique opportunity to own a highly sought-after Daimler of which only 112 were built. Are you interested? Contact us today, we are happy to assist you.
