Description

This wonderfully patinated 2CV has been part of a very well-kept and selective Austrian collection for around 2 years, which is now being gradually reduced in size for reasons of age. Alongside four other vehicles currently on offer, this very well-maintained and extensively documented vehicle holds a special place in the seller's heart.

But read for yourself what he writes: ‘In 1968 we had a 2 CV, built in 1953, painted grass green with a brush, a bit shabby, but with the marvellous roll-up roof right down to the rear bumper. It was cheap, dramatically slow, needed hardly any petrol and even less maintenance. My wife was expecting her first child and so the car was ideal for the young, growing family. The car soon ended up at a junction, despite having priority and of course trying in vain to avoid the collision by accelerating. We were sad and bought an old VW with the insurance compensation, but it never received the same love as the 2 CV. The Döschwo has retained a firm place in our memories and so an original 1956 Duck found its way into my collection. It is only 3 years younger, already has 12 hp instead of the 9 hp it had back then and of course the important roll-up roof up to the bumper, which was decisive for the purchase. It has not been restored, but carefully and expertly preserved and therefore has the charm and beautiful patina of a time capsule, making the old original duck a rare treat and a real collector's delight. Due to my advanced age, I am reducing my collection with a little melancholy and am therefore parting with this piece of beautiful memory, which will certainly give future owners a lot of joy and nostalgic pleasure.’

Condition description:

The mechanical condition of the vehicle is very good, all components are original, not touched up or embellished, with no faulty units or outdated details. No modifications have been made that would contradict the original delivery specifications and the bodywork is in a well-kept, unrestored condition commensurate with its age. The paintwork is original without repainting and shows only minor touch-ups, individual dents and scratches are present. Minor superficial rust damage has been left visible and carefully preserved in order to retain the original condition; there is no damaging rust underneath, and the entire interior, including the wallpaper and floor carpets, is in good condition. Colour and material are true to the original. The roller roof, which can be opened up to the rear bumper and is typical of the early series, is undamaged and original. The glazing and all fittings are in perfect condition. The engine compartment and boot are in very good condition, the painted components show age-related damage to the paintwork, which was deliberately left in the spirit of originality. The underbody is rust-free and in perfect condition. The wheels and tyres, including the spare wheel, are as good as new and correspond to the original. All mechanical components - engine, gearbox, drive, axles, brakes including handbrake and chassis - are in perfect, well-maintained and original condition and fully functional. The driving behaviour corresponds to the excellent overall condition. The vehicle is fully roadworthy within the meaning of § 57a KFG. The traces of use correspond to many years of very careful operation.
