Description

Transmission: 5 gears, Manual gearbox

The BMW E24 is the first generation of the BMW 6 Series grand tourer automobiles, produced from January 1976 to 1989 and replacing the BMW E9 coupe.
The E24 was produced exclusively as a 2-door coupe.[2] All models used six-cylinder petrol engines, with most (apart from the M635CSi/M6 model) using a version of the BMW M30 engine family. The E24 shared many components with the E12 5 Series and was updated in 1982 with components from the recently released E28 5 Series.

Development and production
The E24 was designed by Paul Bracq. Unlike its predecessor, the E9, the E24's bodywork has a B-pillar. The original proposal for the E24 was based on a BMW E9 3.0 CS with a higher height, to make it easier for customers to enter and exit the vehicle. However, Bob Lutz rejected the proposal, which ultimately led to the production form of the E24.

Production of the 633CSi began in January 1976, with the carbureted 630CS following in February 1976. A total of 86,216 cars were built before production ended in April 1989. This car we present comes from Italy and has been driven there its entire life. It has also been standing still for a long time and had to undergo a major service. The following items were defective or replaced:

New Hardy disc
