Description
Sometimes it happens that inspiration takes hold of a designer who takes his sketch pad or his 3D tool and simply creates a masterpiece. BMW has a few of them on its conscience, such as 507, Z8, and not least the E9 model series, which is in question here. The E9, which covers the 2800 CS, 3.0 CS and 3.0 CSi, is a super elegant coupe that combines elegance, comfort and driving pleasure.
The E9 series rolled out for the first time from Karmann, in 1968, and into a coming decade plagued by the oil crisis, where the focus was more on economizing daily transport, than getting more pompous and high-performance machines on the market. Fortunately, the E9 was very well received, also in the American markets, and build quality, engineering and of course design have since ensured its status among car connoisseurs.
This 2800 CS, which was delivered in Denmark from new, is painted in our absolute favorite color for it, Fjord Metallic, which compliments a beige cabin in delicious, soft leather. Pay particular attention to the details, such as the woodwork, integrated door handles in the decorative strips, and the BMW emblems on the c-pillars. The car has been upgraded with tasteful details such as a Nardi steering wheel and 14” Alpina style rims, which we think suits its heritage and characteristics quite well.
Once you've kicked the dirt off your shoes, it's time to settle in and let the comfortable seats give you a hug. After taking a good sniff and analyzing the fragrance palette of wood, leather and well-oiled machinery that meet you, it's time to turn the key. A double carbureted inline-six wakes up with a bass heavy note and silky smooth ride. While you wait for the oil to warm up, you can roll down the rear windows and enjoy the frameless coupé structure that an E9 has.
Whether it's a trip across the country, around a Northern Italian or Swiss lake, or just a quick trip through the city center, it's hard to get a better companion than our BMW 2800 CS.
We offer shipping within the EU, and our in-house workshop has inspected all our cars before they are put up for sale. A technical report can be shown upon request. The car can be viewed by physical or digital appointment in our showroom. Do not hesitate to request a video or the digitized historical file which we will be happy to share.
You can contact us by email or by telephone for any requests.
