Description

Transmission: 5 gears, Manual gearbox
Top speed: 170 km/h

After the 700 came the Neue Klasse for BMW. Baur also now produced the convertible version. Initially (just like the 501 and 700) completely open. But due to the sporty character that BMW had acquired, the convertible was also driven sporty, and the fully open version was not stiff enough for that. To remedy this, a kind of Targa bracket was used. The hard center panel was removable and the rear window could be folded down. This construction would become a defining image for the later BMW Baur TCs. The first BMWs made by Baur in this way came from the 02 series. Incidentally, there was also a full convertible based on the 02 series.

The BMW Baur that we present here comes from Italy. It is a silver gray with a beautiful fabric upholstery that looks very good on the car. The car shifts, brakes and steers very well. A fine touring car with a sporty side. For the enthusiast of open driving.
