Description
Herbert Austin founded his company in 1905, which grew rapidly and became one of the largest car factories in England. In 1952, the British Motor Company was founded and Austin became a brand. In addition to the Austin-Healey 100, the collaboration with Donald Healey also led to the small Sprite. It was to become a people’s sports car. The two-seater was affectionately called the “Frogeye”. The high-set headlights were necessary to achieve the minimum height required in the USA. These funny “googly eyes” are very popular today.
Our Austin-Healey Sprite Roadster was technically optimised. The little speedster got a little more of everything: a more powerful engine, 5-speed gearbox and front disc brakes. All the original components are still there, but the driving pleasure is so great that hardly anyone will want to put the technical modifications back. The classic car is registered in Germany.
EXTRAS: Engine (1.1 liter displacement 41 kW/56 hp) from MK II;5-speed gearbox; plug-in windows
