Description

1963 Austin Healey 3000 MKII BJ7 – Long Term 50+ Year Ownership – Older High-Level Restoration – Previously Sold by Bill Rawles

Pleased to offer this wonderful Austin-Healey 3000 MK2 that’s had just two owners, the 1st keeper having owned it from 1963-2019 – 56 years!

Original home market UK right-hand drive example, finished in Colorado Red with red leather upholstery and a black hood top. Supplied to Car Mart Sales Ltd, highly specified with overdrive, wire wheels, heater, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen, road speed tyres and servo assisted brakes.

Very well-presented example and was the subject of a major restoration in the early 90s. Carried out by Classic Car Restoration and Repairs, the professional restorative works are fully documented with letters and paid invoices detailing everything that was done.

The restoration encompassed so many new parts both mechanical and cosmetic and these all fully documented and listed in the file. Some highlights of the restoration; body stripped to bare metal with all panels removed, repaired as required, new panels fitted as required and resprayed in the original colour. The interior was also entirely retrimmed as well as much more.
All in all, the restoration was costed to be more than £17,000 in 1992 which today would be circa £40,000 maybe more. Indeed it is an older restoration but it has held up extremely well, is solid and does not need any restorative works.

More recently in 2019 it was sold by Bill Rawles (Austin-Healey specialist) to the 2nd owner. And was delivered with the following additional upgrades – alternatior conversion, uprated core radiator and fan, LED light conversion, bumper delete, Cebie spot lamps, uprated starter motor, Motolita steering wheel, new mohair hood and underside waxoyled.

Supplied with a large history file of MOT certificates, the full restoration breakdown in invoices, old V5Cs confirming the 2 owners, receipts, invoices for recent parts.

Finance can be provided by our independent broker Chatsbrook Finance 01603 733500.
