Description

This is a wonderful find, an ultra-low mileage Aston Martin V8 Volante with just 45,000 miles from new and accompanied by an exceptional history file. AMV 2T comes with a copy of its original bill of sale from 1979, original warranty document and service book. York dealership Armstrong Massey in Market Weighton supplied the car new on the 1st August 1979, finished in Tourmaline Blue with Magnolia hide interior to Olympus Furniture Ltd in London for a total price of £37,086.32. The Volante was ordered new with two Cibie driving lamps, detachable headrests, lockable filler cap, electric door mirror passenger side and off White tonneau cover.

The Aston Martin was purchased for the use of the Company Chairman and a letter is on file dated 9th June 1983 when the car was sold to its second owner who was based on Finchley Road, London. From new in 1979 to 1983 the car was impeccably well maintained, its first service was at 704 miles with Donaldson & Evans in Derbyshire, and from there the first owner had the Volante serviced at Aston Martin Newport Pagnell with service stamps recorded at 3200, 5081, 6321, 7786 and 9902 miles. The car was sold with 11600 miles, the first owner confirming in a letter that the car had given him great pleasure and was chauffeur maintained, and had never broken down. The second owner had London Aston Martin expert Ian Mason service the car in 1983 and it was back at Newport Pagnell at 14527 miles in 1984.

In 1988 the car passed to its next owner, a car collector in Holland Park and Aston Martin dealership Hyde Vale Garage Limited in Greenwich, London maintained the car initially on his behalf. The Volante was with them at 21590 and 21876 miles, and in 1989 Ian Mason serviced the car again at 24093 miles. The cars 1990 service was carried out by Aston Martin Chapman Spooner at 25012 miles, interestingly the service invoice was made out to American fitness footwear and clothing brand Reebok at their Navigators House address in Richmond, Surrey. Then, from 1993 to 1997 the car was kept in dry storage, coming out in 1997 when selling to its next owner who really began to use the car. Top quality maintenance continued and it was Aston Engineering in Derby who then serviced the car at 26431 miles and alongside some local garage work, this owner used Aston Martin main agents Stratton Motor Company (Norfolk) Ltd for services at 32260 and 39396 miles. In 14 years of ownership this owner covered 16000 miles proving the car to be a wonderful, reliable touring car. Stratton Motor Company carried out extensive maintenance work, the most notable being rebuilding the cylinder heads and converting them to unleaded.

From 2011 to 2015 the Aston Martin remained in East Anglia and Stratton Motor Company continued to maintain the car with servicing and maintenance at 42942, 43244, 43325, 43559, 43616 and 43638 miles. Rarely have we seen a classic car with such a high level of marque main dealer service history, clearly a car maintained to the very highest of standards. Invoices detailing all the work are in the very impressive comprehensive history file. Since 2015 the Aston Martin has been in secure, dry storage along with a collection of around 40 cars. Whilst it has been in storage, it has been kept on the button, regularly started with various movements. AMV 2T will now been fully serviced and prepared in our workshops for its next owner.

The much awaited Volante Convertible with a power operated fully lined hood was an evolutionary landmark for Aston Martin and it has its place in Aston Martin history. These very desirable V8 Convertibles are a wonderful open touring car, ideal for long distance on the Continent classic motoring. With the strong, powerful 5340cc V8 engine and automatic transmission these cars are hugely advanced and have proven reliability, they are a robust powerful car that offer comfort, luxury and very relaxed high speed motoring. However what is more special is the provenance in relation to AMV 26T. Its rare to find a car with such an impressive service history, most of its early life with Newport Pagnell and its later life with Stratton Motor Company. Further to that this is a matching numbers car with a very attractive low mileage, it's in its original colours and has unrepeatable history to include MOT's back to its very first one at three years old, original bill of sale copy, original warranty card, service history booklet and masses of paperwork all the way throughout its life. Finished in a beautiful colour combination, this is a stunning, highly original top class motor car that we are very proud to offer onto the market. There will not be many left with this level of originality, low miles and impressive history.
